Mail From The Future

Mail from the future?!? It's the Lake House! Well actually, it's just a cool concept for a cafe. Two summers ago when I visited China, we went to this neat cafe in Suzhou called Momi Cafe. I really recommend you check this place out if you ever find yourself in Suzhou. Not only can you purchase beverages or food like in any other cafe, but you can also write post cards and have them delivered to your future self or anyone in the future for that matter! This is how it works- first off they have a wall full of artsy postcards (that's actually one of the biggest challenges...picking a postcard- because they're all so darn cute), then after you fill out the card and write the address of whom you wish to send it to, you slip it into a box with a year labelled on it. This will be the year you want your postcard to be mailed, You can specify exact dates on the card. From what I remember, you can have it mailed to the person anytime from the present to 20 years later. It's such a fascinating idea! They also sell adorable stationary, I bought the sketchbook on the far left. My cousin and I wanted to open a cafe like this in Toronto...but we're not sure if this idea would fly there!
